Central Email Service (CES)

ActiveSync Wireless Messaging Services provide a range of tools and services that allow NIH users of wireless mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) to have wireless access to their email, calendar, address book, tasks, and notes by connecting to the Central Email Service.

Customer Benefits

These devices also have pager-like functionality and are an extension of the user's mailbox that can travel anywhere in the United States. Some models with an appropriate carrier and service plan may be used overseas.

Q: Can I use my personal device to connect to the NIH Central Email Service (CES)?

A: No. The NIH Mobile Device Security Policy currently prohibits the use of personal devices for remotely accessing the CES.
